The hepatitis B virus is one of the many viruses responsible for causing hepatitis.

1. Regular hand washing

Washing your hand regularly with soap and warm water before preparing or serving food, before meals and after using the bathroom, reduces your chances of getting infected. This is necessary because a person can get infected just by performing simple tasks like changing diapers, cleaning up vomit, or exposure to the blood of an infected person.

2. Wear disposable gloves when handling blood

When bandaging a cut or trying to stop a nice bleed, you are advised to use disposable gloves to be on the safer side. Also do not forget to wash your hands after performing said acts.

3. Abstinence

One easy way to spread hepatitis b is by engaging in unprotected sexual activity. By abstaining from sex you eliminate the possibility of contracting the disease through sexual intercourse. If you must have sex, make sure to use a condom.

People who are not infected should get 2 to 3 shots of the Hepatitis B vaccines. Getting vaccinated is a very effective way if prevent the spread of the disease.

5. Good Nutrition and Rest

Eating a balanced diet and getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night can go a long way in preventing the spread of hepatitis b.
