The Human Immune Virus (HIV) is one of society’s most dangerous infections.
It is responsible for thousands of deaths across the globe and is feared by many since there is no known cure for the disease and anyone who contracts the disease will be reliant on drugs for the rest of their life.
Though HIV/AIDS doesn’t show signs and symptoms until it has reached an advanced stage, there are a few symptoms that appear within the first 2 to 4 weeks of contracting the virus.

Below are some of the early symptoms of the infection.
1. Muscle ache and Fever
Some signs of HIV that may be seen within the first 2 to 4 weeks of contracting the virus are muscle ache and fever. At this point, the body reacts to the presence of the strange virus in the bloodstream by causing the body to burn up. It also causes some muscles in the body to hurt thereby making the individual very weak and unable to go about their day-to-day business.
2. Swollen Lymph Nodes
The lymphatic system is a component of the white blood cells. And when an unusual bacteria enters the body or when an individual contracts a severe virus, the nodes usually become visible and swollen. If you notice enlarged lymph nodes in your neck or armpit, you are advised to seek medical attention immediately.

3. Mouth ulcers
Within the first few weeks of contracting HIV, you may experience some sores in your mouth for no plausible reason. All of these are physiological effects of the presence of something strange in your bloodstream
4. Sore throat
Experts have argued that a person afflicted with HIV would experience flu-like symptoms some weeks after contracting the virus. In sine cases, you may develop a dry and painfully sore throat.
It is important to note that, though sour throat can be an early symptom of HIV, it can also be a symptom of something else. In other words, the symptoms discussed above are not a guarantee that a person is HIV positive. This is why you are advised to see a doctor for proper diagnosis especially if you have had unprotected sex.
